This course is designed to give students more comfort, confidence and creative ability, in a variety of
kinds of writing in English.
Students will gain a clear understanding and comfortable familiarity with the various stages of the
writing process and learn to integrate writing into their daily lives on a regular basis, for the purpose
of enriching their experience and thought each day.

Students will learn to craft and write English poems, stories and essays in this course.
They will also keep a regular journal, which will count for an important percentage of the course mark.

This portfolio will be graded according to the following:
- the quantity and creativity of the submitted material,
- whether the students have used techniques taught in class.
「学習態度」includes careful note-taking, and speaking
English only in class.

テキスト There is no textbook for this course. The instructor will provide the handouts required.
Students should bring good-quality dictionaries (J-E & E-J) with them to class every time (electronic
dictionaries are fine).
